How Do I Tell When My Yorkies in Heat?
Yorkies in heat often display various symptoms that can be difficult to miss. One of the most common symptoms is an increase in urination. Your dog may start to urinate more frequently and in smaller amounts. She may also mark her territory more often by urinating on vertical surfaces such as walls and furniture. My Yorkie Snores! What Can I Do?
You’re not alone if your Yorkie keeps you up at night with their snoring. Many small dog breeds are prone to snoring due to their short muzzle and narrow nasal passages. While it may be tempting to ignore the problem, snoring can signify a health condition known as brachycephalic syndrome. Obstructed airways characterize this condition, leading to difficulty breathing, overheating, and even heart failure.
If your Yorkie is snoring loudly or having trouble breathing, it’s important to take them to the veterinarian for an evaluation. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to improve airflow. However, you can also do a few things at home to help reduce your Yorkie’s snoring. First, ensure they’re getting plenty of exercise; this will help keep their weight and clear their airways.
You can also try raising their head while they sleep by placing a pillow under their bed or using a pet ramp. Finally, consider using a humidifier in your bedroom; this will help to keep the air moist and prevent nose and throat irritation. How Many Yorkie Puppies in a Litter?
Yorkie puppies are born in small litters of generally two to five puppies. Some litters may have only one or two pups, while others may have six or more. The average litter size for Yorkies is three or four puppies. Yorkies usually have one to three puppies per pregnancy, with the average being two. Typically, there are no more than four Yorkshire terrier puppies in a litter. Occasionally, a Yorkie may have a larger litter of five to six puppies, but this is not common.
